Put the good cue where you'll see it
“My journal sits on my pillow every morning. I can't get into bed without seeing it.” — Kai

Today's action · 5 min
Choose the object your habit needs, like a water bottle, book or yoga mat, and put it right where you'll see it at the moment you plan to do the habit.
Why it works
Gardner, Lally and Wardle explain that repeating a simple action in a consistent context builds a link, so the context itself starts to trigger the action. A visible cue in the right place gives that link something to grab onto every day.
