Missed a day? Never miss twice

“I missed yesterday. Old me would quit. Today I just did the tiny version and kept going.” — Kai

Kai, Winter Arc Day 14

Today's action · 3 min

If you have missed a day, do the smallest version of your habit right now. If you haven't, write your "never miss twice" rule on your tick sheet so it's ready.

Why it works

In Lally and colleagues' habit study, missing one opportunity did not materially affect how the habit formed. What matters is getting back to it quickly. One miss is a blip; two in a row is how a new pattern starts.
