Shut down your desk at night

“I jot tomorrow's first task, close the laptop and say "done". My evenings feel mine again.” — Kai

Kai, Winter Arc Day 19

Today's action · 10 min

At the end of your work or study time, write down the next step for anything unfinished, tidy the desk, and close the laptop. Say "done for today" out loud if it helps.

Why it works

Masicampo and Baumeister found that unfinished goals kept intruding on people's thoughts, but making a specific plan for them removed that interference. Sonnentag and Fritz describe mentally switching off from work as a key part of recovering in your free time.
