Protect sleep over the holidays

“Late nights happen. But I still get up within an hour of my usual time, and it saves my week.” — Kai

Look at the next few days and pick a wake-up time no more than about an hour later than your normal one. Set the alarm now, even on days off.

Why it works

The NHLBI advises keeping the same sleep schedule on weeknights and weekends, limiting the difference to no more than about an hour. Holidays are like a long weekend, so keeping your wake time close to normal makes it easier to get back on track in January.
