Day 25 of 90 · Move

Move to lift your mood

“On low days I don't wait to feel better. I walk first, and the mood usually follows.” — Kai

Kai, Winter Arc Day 25

Today's action · 10 min

Next time your mood dips today, do 10 minutes of movement you enjoy: a brisk walk, dancing in the kitchen, or some yoga. Notice how you feel afterwards.

Why it works

A large BMJ review by Noetel and colleagues found that walking or jogging, yoga and strength training were linked to moderate reductions in depression in trials, though the quality of evidence was low. Movement is a helpful tool, not a replacement for care; if low mood lasts, talk to a doctor.
