Alcohol and your sleep
“A drink helped me drop off, but I'd wake at 3am. Fewer drinks, better nights.” — Kai

If you drink, pick tonight as an alcohol-free evening, or set a cut-off time a few hours before bed. Notice how you sleep and how you feel tomorrow.
Why it works
A review by Ebrahim and colleagues found that alcohol helps people fall asleep faster but disrupts sleep in the second half of the night. The NHLBI advises avoiding alcoholic drinks before bed. This is general information; if you're worried about your drinking, talk to a doctor.
